David Takes Clowns in the Sky to new heights.
A big Thank you to David Mason for his magnificent effort in climbing; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Great Gables, Llewydd and Snowdon to raise funds in support of all we do at Clowns in the Sky. His total of £404.99 will go a long way in helping to put a smile of the face of a child suffering from a brain tumour.
David's photos really do put our Clown in the clouds and we very much appreciate all his efforts both the physical climb and the sponsorship raised.
Thank you David
From the team at Clowns in the Sky.
Their recent support both financial and staff hours has made an enormous difference to the success of recent fundraising events and raising awareness for the work we do at Clowns in the Sky. There further commitment promised during the 2011 will no doubt further increase our ability to bring a smile to the face of child with a brain tumour.

Welcome to Tony Cottee our new Patron

Former West Ham and England Footballing Legend, and now Sky Sports Commentator/Football Pundit

Born in West Ham, East London, a lifelong West Ham fan, and family man with 3 children.
Making his first team, First Division debut for West Ham aged just 17 in 1983 and making it very memorable, scoring the first goal in a 3-0 win against Tottenham. By the age of 20 Tony had scored an amazing 37 League goals. Tony received the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1986, and that season had 20 goals with his name on them. The following season saw an even more impressive 22 league goals, and a further 13 goals followed for Tony in 1987-1988. By the age of 23 Tony had played 212 league games for The Hammers with 92 goals scored.

Tony's other signings included Everton, Leicester City, Norwich City, Barnet, Millwall and the Malaysian side Selangor, and Birmingham City on loan. He was also capped seven times for England.

His final tally was 579 League games and 226 goals and with competitions this increased to 712 games with 293 goals. Tony exceeded his ambition to score 200 League goals in his career.

Tony has not only been a success on the pitch but also off of it, he now commentates for Sky Sports and is a regular Pundit on the radio. He has also been very involved with charitable causes, in May 2011 he managed an ex-West Ham Team in a Charity Event organised by Football for Fans, with his team raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2010 Tony was involved with a Charity Golf Day for Alzheimer's, in 2009 Tony kicked off a toy appeal for needy children in Newham, and in 2008 Tony supported Cards for Good Causes which have helped various charities including St Francis Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower and St Luke's Hospice in Basildon, Essex.

A sporting legend, with commitment, drive and determination, and generally an all-round nice guy what more could Clowns ask for?
It's time we said a very special Thank you to Jennifer's nanny Sheila Gwyther.
Over the past seven years she has raised thousands of pounds selling her hand made cards & jewellery, running numerous raffles & auctions and supporting any event we run at Clowns in the Sky.
Her hard work has kept the spirit and memory of her Granddaughter alive and we would like to say a special Thank you.

Brentwood Half Marathon Sunday 20th March 2011
A HUGE THANK YOU to those 12 runners who made such an effort to run 13 miles in aid of Clowns in the Sky at the Brentwood Half Marathon on Sunday 20th March.
I'm told conditions were quite good for a run, but no conditions are ever good for me running.
You really are all very brave, pounding those roads and without iPods too, it was news to us all that all headsets were banned.
Now I'm no expert but Ruth, how amazing are you? A fabulous first time of 1.47:12, placed at 565 of around 2500 runners, with Richard not far behind at 1.47:29 and position of 583, and Dean Well you were through first but you do have to wear your tag to get clocked, oh! I'm getting all technical now.
This is the list of runners and their times, but what was so important was the awareness raised about Clowns in Essex, being promoted by 12 runners in our t-shirts. Also the sponsorship money raised (awaiting a final total). Runners be proud of yourselves, for your dedication, effort and team work; I really hope you went home with a feel good factor and sense of achievement. We are all very proud of you: Chip Gun Placed
Dean Ord ? ?
The support you gave each other was great too, and I was very thankful of the help given by the lovely volunteers: Gary and Kim Smith, and Iris Cunningham.
Shall we do it again next year? Put the 25th March 2012 in your calendars please.
