Easter visit to Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle

Details:
Clowns in the Sky Development Organiser, Donna Byrne and Angela Stapley of The Sir James Knott Trust visited the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle on 19th March 2015.

The Sir James Knott Trust has kindly donated £2000.00 and Donna was delighted to show Angela how Clowns in the Sky uses this money.   Donna and Angela delivered arts and craft items to refill the trolleys on Ward 14 (Oncology), these included sparkly eggs cut out of foam, little chicks, lambs and rabbits, Hungry Caterpillar masks to make, as well as plenty of distraction items too.

Lesley Hall, the Play Specialist showed Donna and Angela around, and was able to explain the importance of the trolleys and the resources that Clowns in the Sky provide.

A huge thank you to The Sir James Knott Trust, to Angela for taking the time to visit the Great North Hospital, to Lesley and the staff on Ward 14 and to the other members of staff at the hospital including Amanda in Children’s Outpatients.
