Back in 2012 I did my first charity bike ride for Clowns – a
mere 42 miles, I was the last person to finish, having been beaten by, among
others, a group of postmen on their Royal Mail bikes!
This time I intend to cycle 500 miles during the month of
May, I think my fitness has improved since 2012 but this is still over double
what I would normally cycle in a month – so quite a challenge. We were unable to hold our usual fund-raising
activities over the Christmas season and I decided to do this sponsored ride as
no matter what the current COVID circumstances I’ll still be able to go ahead.
Clowns in the Sky supply activity trolleys to over 30 children’s
oncology wards. Providing arts and craft
activities when playrooms are shut or the children cannot get out of bed.
If you would like to sponsor me, I will be roaming the golf
club with my sponsor forms or you can sign up in the pro shop. If you would like to join me on a ride you
are welcome (especially if you are proficient at bike and puncture repairs!).
